MESSAGE FROM NEW ZEALAND. At tho request of the Hon. W. F. Massoy (Prime Minister), his Excellency, tho Governor has forwarded a cable message _to tho Secretary of Stato for tho Colonics, asking him to convey to the Japanese Ambassador in London tho sincere sympathy of tho Government and of tho people of Now Zealand with tho Japanese nation in tho death. of the Mikado. JAPAN CONSUL NOTIFIED. Mr. J. A. Tripo, Acting-Consul at Wellington for Japan, in tho absence of Mr. T. Young, yesterday morning feceivod the following cable messago from Baron Uchida, Minister for Foreign Affairs in Japan:— "It is my most painful duty to announce to ,s'ou that his Majesty tho Emperor, after a short illness, passed away on July 30 at 0.-13 a.m., at the Imperial Palace," Tokio.—(Signed) Ucliuln." Tho Consul has cabled his condolence at tho death of the Emperor.
