The holidaymakcrs at the Island of Ruegen, ivho wero precipitated into tho sea and drowned through tho collapse of a pier, were watching a battle fleet, and mado a. iiiad rush towards an incoming steamer. Tho landinp stage collapsed, also tho pier, and 150 people wero precipitated into tho sea. A number of blucjackets and officers jumped into the water and rescued many. Twenty-one. bodies havo been recovered. It is feared that others arc submerged in tho ruins.
