WELLINGTON ORPHANS' CLUB.
• J _ A meeting of tho Wellington Orphans' Club took place on Friday evening. There was a full attendant of members, Colonel Collins, C.M.G., presiding. The chief business of the evening was the arrangements in connection with the ladies' night, to bo held in the Town Hall on August 10. The secretary reported that in all probability the representatives from the north and south would number 100 Orphans, that the fnll strength of the Auckland orchestra would also be present on the occasion, and that great efforts were being made to arrange the best possible programme for the evening. The following committees were set up to take control of the whole' of the arrangements in connection.with the Indies' night:—Catering committee, Messrs. Batt, .T. P. Kelly, P. J. M'Govern, E. D. Hanlon, and the. seorc-tary; decoration committee, Messrs. Corutty, Hickmott, Girdlestonc. Warren, O'Reilly, Frandi. V. M'Donald, Pye-Smith, P. Fitzgerald, N. Broad, and E. Jolly; hall ■and olook-room committee. Messrs. 11. Blick, Christie, Tlowitt, T,. Brown, H. Folev; stage arrangements. Messrs. J. F. Can-, S. N. Huttoii, ami W. M'Laughlin.
