Tho Helvetia sank, but her crew were saved. .- The Empress of Britain returned to port with her hows damaged, (Reo. July 30, 0.30 a.m.) Later. The Helvetia was ciit in two and sank immediately. Tho Empress of Britain was badly sioro in, and her fore compartments filled. Some of tho passengers and mails were transferred to a steamer which was standing by.
