E«id) was, further exemplified in. • Timaru last Friday evening when he play- ■ ed a. brilliant game against a local ania- • teur, whoru ho beat easily. The- chani- ■ 'pioß was in even better form than on ■ {Tuesday night when he gave such a fine 'exhibition of his skill with the cue. The match- on [Friday was played in the cosy ealoort of Atlas Chambers, where the proprietor (Mr. M'Lachlan) had everything in the best of? good, order, the play talcing place on a first-class table, true and fast. There was a large, attendence of lovers ' of this popular .indoor game ,and all present watched with keen interest and enjoyment the dexterous play of the. visitor, who, with many pretty shots, made some big; breaks. The best of these, wore 204, 161, 102, 105, and 79. The game was 750up, and Mr. Eeid conceded , his opponent ■350. At the conclusion of the match ho gave an exhibition of trick and fancy '> shots, and these won the admiration, of t all; present The champion was warmly - applauded, at the close ot.play. ,
