JOHNSONVILLE TOWN BOARD.
The regular fortnightly meeting of tho Johnsonvillo Town Board was held on Wednesday night. Messrs, P. T. Mooro (presiding), 0. Jerusalem, W. WalJis, A. J. May, W. Augell, and L. Lawroncowcre present. Councillor Jerusalem's motion ,U> ter- / minate the present sanitary service was held over for another month, as. it vrae thought that the septic tank and sewerago system will be within sight of completion by that' time. Councillor May's motion to increase tho board's permanent roadman's wages by Gd. per day was defeated. Tho Financo Committee reported that everything was in train,to cnablo ratepayers to obtain financial aid from the board in connecting with tho water and sewerage works. t A draft form of security to be held by the board for advance made to cover tlie cost of household connections was approved. ' Tho onginecr _. reported ' good progress with tho lighting reticulations which would bo completed'in a. month hence if weather conditions permit. Tho progress of tho sewerage works was being further delayed owing to inclement weather. Tho Works Committee reported that the roads were still very bnd, this lysine owing chiefly to tho cutting of.sewerage waiter and lighting trenches, and that present supplies' of metnl were exhausted. The chairman said that no money wae available for the purchase of further rond metal dud that when tho contracts in hand were complete'a special loan should be raised to put tho whole of the streets and footpaths in good order during next summer arid autumn. Ho said that tin's course was rendered necessary in consequence 'of.'the injury (o the' surface of rond.s anil footpaths laying eewerngo water and lighting services.
