MANAWATU DRAINAGE CASE. DECISION RESERVED. Argument was concluded irt the Court of Appeal yesterday on certain points of law arising out of an action claiming damages in. respect of the flooding .of drains. Tho Court comprised the Chief Justice (Sir Eouert Stout), Mr. Justice Denniston, and Mr. Justice Sim. The parties in tho action are William Bryant Vater Pearce, farmer, of Rangiotu. plaintiff, and the Manawatu Land Drainage Board, of Palmerston North, defendants, Mr. P. E. Baldwin appeared for Pearce, while Mr. C. B. Morison, with Mr. F. H.' Cooke, appeared for the defendant board. Particulars of the case were published in yesterdaj-'s issue. Legal argument was not concluded until nearly 3 p.m. yesterday when the Court reserved decision.
