Record Boign (12st. 121b.), and Paisano (12st. lib.) are the only horses that have successfully carried over 12st. during the history of the race. Tβ' Roti was nominated for the Jumpers' Flat Handicap at tho C.J.C. meeting, but, as he is not eligible to run, no has been withdrawn. .; G. D'elaney, in charge of the jumpers Silver Cluse and Tβ Roti, went south on Thursday evoning. ■ . , ' . Shnja, in charge of B. Johnston, wns Shipped to Sydney lost evening. The Soult horso will take part in'the principal handicaps at Bandwiok in October, if he stands up—a very doubtftil 'contingency. At the present time ho is very eore. . ■ ' Kildonan will, bo it is believed, shortly be shipped to Melbourne, to bo raced over fences there. • Despite the absence of an eye, the Kilcheran gelding is a groat jumper, and has, at times, shown remarkable form on the Hastings tracks. So far, however, he has failed to reproduce it in his races. He belongs to Mr. E. J. Watt, who has a useful team at present in Melbourne. Wimmera is a finn favourite for the 'Australian Hurdles next Saturday at Caulfield. A well-known Hastings sportsman ia responsible for tho statement that Mr. E. J. Watt contemplates removing the whole of his racing string to Australia. Gladiole has wintered exceptionally well, and will, next .week, join the ranks of track workers at- Awapuni. H. Era will also put into work Mr. O'Neill's other horses—Monologue and Kosalys. ■ < Billington, the aged brother to St. Bill, has been sold by E. Thistleton, has arrived at Eiccorton.-with the steeplechase horses, Tho Gunner and. Te Tua. Koth horses have been galloping well since the Dunedin Jockey Club's winter niceting. . ~ . ■
' Waikaraka'a party express confidence that the ex-North Island torse-mil. give a great account of himself in the Grand National Huidles at. Riceartou next month. Word from Invercargill ■. states that the Waiuku gelding was looking, remarkably well when Uβ left for Riccarton last week. Tho apprentice, F. Wuddell, • who is to ride Wailsaraka, had the win-. • ninjf mount on the chestnut at tho .Dunedin Cup meeting. AVaddell showed capital form as a, hurdle-horseman .when, he ' won the ' Fairfield Hurdles at Wingatui tost moath on Outlamfer's .brother, Freak. The hunter Guirteeii (Kulnine—Roseledf) iiccompanied Waikaraka to Riccartonr" ■ On Sunday; last,, th' 9 well-known brood anare Stratasam (Nelson—l)udu) was discovered in a dying conditioai at the Bay View stud, luvofcuirgill. Tho cause of her • subsequent death is not known. Stratagem was in foal to Gleueulloch (Clanranald— Madowla), and had a colt by the same sire at foot. During her racing career, Stratagem won e number of good Landicaps, including the Midsummer Handicap at Riccartoin and the Oamai-uCup. For a long time sho carried tho colours of Sir Goo. Clifford,' but more lecently she won for Mr. j?. Delargey.- At the Dunedin Cup meeting, 1911, Stratagem broke down*btully, and was then retned to the stud. A rumour vas current in the city yesterday that Mount ~S iptoria hud go iu wrong, but on the owner being appealed ti he stated that the. report was groundless, and that 'as the gelding was to do no galloping Uβ could not very well break down; : ■ , in esteerabl correspchdeht writes taking exception to tho paragraph in yesterday's notes -onent the coot ' juinpiiig of,Coronetted., He states thai vp to the time that he fell at Ellerslio the chestnut gelding vas jumping particularly well. "Eangi ,, Thompson will ride Blnck 'Nnrtl-CTn in the Grand National Steeples, and will subssnuetitly accompany Mr. W. ■ MimcMmery's horse to Randvick, and Tide him in tho steeplechases at the Aus- ■ tidlian Jockey Club's' spring meeting. ,_ Weights for tho minor erentg on" tho first dav of the Cahterbuiy Jockey Club's Girand National meeting will be declared 1 .on Friday next. . Kilbromey, who has been purchased for New Zealand' by Mr.. J. B. Reid 1 , has been favourably .commented on by Eiijrlish writeri When ho won , tho Goodwood Cui> lost year, he was described as "a . trifle on tho small side; but a thoroughly genuine and honeit stayer." Plaisaiilerio U a leading factor in'tho pedigree of Kllbronoy, • whoSe sire, The Wiisr,- is a son of Orme and the famous little FrenchT>red inare. Tho Wa,? was a Slcdmero yearline, but he proved to bo a wild, excitable "beast when Felix Leach had him in training, and never did much, if any, good, on a rocecourss. On tho other hand, Childwick (another of Plaisantene's foals) was a really good horse whcn_ it was at last -possible to get him fit. which was not' until tho autumn of his four-yoar-old season, when ho won the Ce-nre-vitch very ensilv indeed. Another source of stamina in Kilbrone/s breeding may bo noted, in Kin? Lud, whoso blood ho inherit l : through his dam. Ling Lud was . certainly one of the' finest stayers ever Been, find tho w.iy in whioli he ju=t b?at tho great French, horse Booard for tho Alexandra Plate, will never )n forgotten. It may bs (fays the London "Sporfennn") that the victory was largely due tc distance's riding, but had not his mount been d*ad game aud an undying stayer Hie joCkey could not have got. him homo from such a champion us Bocanl. who had beaten tho best field'that vv started for the .A?rot Ci!i>. In that field, by tho (7r.T, wis Donc.i.?ter, who comes tjvico in p'Klisrce, and himfelf Tvnn Vit-ii flip Cup and Alexandra Tlate the following year.

As shown by the proiic and loss account, the surplus on the year's working expenses'is .£1227 16s. 2d. _The money paid in stakes amounted to ■£7319, as against .SBH2S last year, the deficiency txring accounted for owing to the 1?ocin? Commission reducing our number of days racing by one, which was taken off at the spring mooting. Tho receipts from entry foes total .£2393, as c £2557 in the previous. year, which deficiency is accounted for by the losa of one day. Nominations foi tho offices of president, one
