SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Present indications are for easterly to southeasterly winds, probably increasing again, strong to gale generally. Unsettled and cloudy weather, with rain probable generally, and more enow thortly on higher levels and in the south. The barometer is due to fall.everywhere, but particularly in-the north. Stormy weather continued about Cook Strait, but has moderated somewhat today, unsettled and showery weather lias prevailed, especially on the East Coaststrong easterly winds have predominated. The apti-cylone extends into high latitudes, for 30.31 has been reported on Wednesday at Macquario Island, when 30.70 waa read at Oamaru, and tho gradient has been and is Btill very steep to north and' westward.
