■ -•« : SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Present Indications are for strong easterly winds squally in parts, and veering to northerly. The temperature will probably become , somewhat milder, with increasing humidity, especially in the north. Changeable, mi3ty, and showery weather indicated at present, though a temporary, improvement may take place- before a storm area now appajently developing on the Tasman Sea, arrives with a rapid decrease in barometric pressure. The barometer has been very high in the south. 30.70 being recorded to-day, but pressure has remained relatively low in the north. Stormy and wintry weather lias been experienced in and about Cook Strait. Fair to oloudy and cold weather has been reported in',Otago and Westland, but cold and showery weather generally, with strong easterly winds predominating. D. 0. BATES.
