PALMERSTON DAY BY DAY.

(From Our Special Correspondent.) Palmorston, July 23. • There was a good attendance at tho annual meeting of tho Palmerston Bowling 01 lib lost night, Mr. J. A. Nash being in the chair. Tho annual report and balancesheet wore adopted, and the following officers were elected fcr the ensuing year:— President, Mr. .T. A. Nash; vice-presidents, Messrs. W. Beck and E. S. Dixon; geivaral coinniittee, Messrs. S. Russell, A. Pickering, C. D. Fraser, A. E. Clausen, and N. 11. Nash; green committee, Messrs. S. Euseell, F. Mowlem, and A. Pickering; match' committee, Me-ssr.s. F. Mowlem, A. and C. Pickering; treasurer, Mr. W. Beck; secretory, Mr. F. J. Tasker. It was decided to hold pairs and singles competitions.during the season, but not rink matches, also to send several rinks on tour. A vote of thanks and a bonus of ten guineas was passed to 'lion, secretary (Mr. F. J. Tasker). .Twenty-five new members were elected. The architect of tho Wanganui Education Board was in Palmerston yesterday, taking the levels of the site.on' which it is proposed to erect the new school at tho west, end of the town. Tho Overseas Club has decided to vote the balance from tho recent demonstration (amounting to .£7) to the fund for tho proposed Old Men's llome at Awapuni.
