I sincerely trust that when Mr..Mnssey's Cabinet meets to appoint tho High Commissioner, tho selection will bo nvado irrespective of partv consitieralions, and solelv in tlio interest l ; of tho Dominion, and that the gentleman who will occupy the extremely important position as Now Zealand's representative ill London will bo found to bo tho one who in tho opinion of Iho Cabinet possesses tho highest qualifications for tho office, irrespective of any consideration as to whether lie is inside or outsido tho ranks of ain political party. ~ ~ , It is -timo that we should rccogmso that the intcre.sts of Now Zealand outweigh tiioso of party, and that in tho filling of such an im])ortant jrasition as that of High Commissioner tho country expects that the claims of all aspirants for tho offioo will receive the fullest consideration, and that the selection will result in tlio appointment of the gentleman best able J o advance the interests of our country, irrespective of political creed or colour.
