KARORI BOROUGH COUNCIL.
The following were present at the fortnightly meeting of tile Karori Borough Council- held last evening:—The Mayor (Mr.' C. Cathie), Councillors ' Hildreth, Bradnock, Hamilton, Ktanden, Horn, Nimimo, Anderson, and Burn, j According to a. report received from the City Electrical Engineer's report, tho expenditure to March HI was £13300 for overhead equipment, .£772 for meters, and .£■ll2 for transformers. ' Tho cost for lighting tho sections between tho Botanical Gardens and Johnston Streets was ,£IIG 17s. 9d...with an. additional .£3O Is. 10il. for repairs; Osram lamps had been installed in the placo of arc lamps. On the'.?e.ction from Johnslon Streit to KnTori Park the lighting cost amounted to .519 os. 1d„ and the rppairs to Bs. Iflrt., from April, inn, to March, 1912. The costs from .April to July, 1012, were .£7 7s. 7(1. a'nd Cs. 7d. respectively. The actual total cost was £8351 Is. 7d. as from April 1, 1911, to July 9. 1912. In reply to a. complaint from the council to the City Tramway? Department regarding a car which (running to Ivarori Park) displayed only tho sign "Karori," the city traffic manager explained that the ' name screen on : that car did not contain "Karori Park" on it.
