JEWISH DEBATING SOCIETY.

An interesting debute was held Inst evening under the auspices of the 'Wellington Jewish Literary and Debating Society. Tho president, Mr. D. .T. Natluin, opened with a paper 011 "The labour Question." An animated discussion followed. Ono of thoso who took port was Mr. 11. J. Kcardon (president of tho local Trades Council. 'Ho complimented Mr. Nathan 011 tho very able way in which he had dealt with his subject. Mr. J. Zachariah, who presided, thanked tho president for his paper, and congratulated tho club upon tho fact that its debates were growing in popularity, as was evidenced by increased attendances at its meetings. He asked members and visitors wiio wero present to make it known ns widely as possible that tho debates of the club wero open to all.
