The Now Zealand appeal case, Samson versus Aitchison, was dismissed with costsi In this case Louisa May Aitchison, a school teacher, was awarded d£7so damages as compensation for injuries incurred by her in a collision in Dunedin with John Martin Samson's motor-car. Samson denied that the accident was due to his carelessness, and alleged that the driver of the car, Albert Allison Collins, was responsible. He took the case to the Court of Appeal, but Judges Dcnniston, Edwards and Chapman decided against him. The Chief Justice 1 dissented from the judgment. _ Leave to 1 appeal to tho Privy Council was granted.
