At lunch time, when play did commence the weather was dull and the wicket soft. Australia's innings closed with 327 on the board, and when stumps were 'drawn Leicester had lost three wickets for GB. Bardsley and Kelleway, the no tout men, resumed to the bowling of Shipman nnd King. The fifth ball from King Bardsloy attempted to pull, and was easily caught at short-leg. Bardsley's score included six 4's, and his stand with Kelleway added 79 runs. Gregory and Kelleway were together when the second century was hoisted, after 150 minutes' play. Gregory then played ono from King on to his wicket. Minnett and Matthews did not last long, and when Matthews was caught Kelleray's score totalled' 68, obtained by sound cutting and driving. After twenty minutes' delay, caused by rain, the sun shone out, and Kelleway and Whitty were partnered, and put on 47 runs for the eighth wiekot before being separated. Whitty hit two G's and three 4's. Kelleway oud Emory added 32 for the ninth wicket, and then Kelleway was taken at short-leg. Ho had batted for IGS minutes, and did not givo ono chance. He hit seven 4's. Emery hit up 25 in fifteen minutes, including two 6's. The innings lasted 240 minutes. Wood and Knight faced Whitty and Emery, and with tho score at 32 Minnett relieved Whitty. Tho change was effective, Minnett" getting Wood with his first ball. Mounteney hit two fours off successive balls, but the third bowled him. Knight and Whitehead saw 50 hoisted after thirty*™ minutes. Knight was taken in tho slips. Whitehead hit three fours off his first over from Matthews. The following arc the scores:—
