WARRBIOO ARRIVES. Two days later than usual, this week's direct boat from Sydney—tho Warrimoo— arrived at Wellington at 4 p.m. yesterday. "The voseel left Sydney at 2 p.m. on Saturday last, Mid cleared Port Jackson Headg an hour later. Until Sunday morning she experienced light winds and smooth sea, but the wind then increased to hurricane force, causing very high seas. Two days out from Sydney the vessel was compelled to, proceed very slowly, and for 15 hours sKo continued on thus. Bad conditions prevailed until Thursday morning, when the weather moderated, and better conditions ensued, until arrival. She brings the foUowilne cargo for Wellington, including transhipments ex Rendsburg, Mannheim, Maloja, Otway, Lothringen, Roon, Hellenic :-89 bundles hoops, 46 rolls lead, 2CO cases soap, 20 rases wax. 102 nieces timber, M casks shale oil, 108 sacks rice meal, 372 bnsa ocuro, 80 oases , sugar, 1483 bags salt, 1960 cases fruit, and sundries. The Warrimoo Is to sail at 5 p.m. today for Dunedhi direct, and thence to Bluff, Hobart, ajid Melbourne.
AOEANGI FROM SYDNEY. At 6.45 last evonintc B.M.S. AorangJ berthed at the King's Wharf, after a lone paesage from Sydney. Tho vessel left the New South Wales port at 3 p.m. on Saturday last, and fair weather was experienced until Sunday morning, when she raninto a howling south-easterly gale, accompanied by a hea.vy soa. She passed the Warrimoo, but, as there was no need.for a fast passage, and weather conditions were 1 bad, speed was decreased. As doon as conditions improved, the vessel was put on her course again, and' thereafter made good time. Captain W. Mr. Lewis lias jollied the Aorangi aa fourth engineer. Mr. B. A. Menzics lias joined the Hauroto as piu'ser. Early yesterday morning tho UHmniwa. from Melbourne and Ilobart, arrived in port. After a somewhat thick weather passage along the coast, the vessel reachod l'ort Chalmers at 1 p.m. on Tuesday last. The vessel sailod last evening for Sydney direct. Mr. W. F. , Suckling, officer of the U.S.S. Co., who oamo ashore a. few weeks ago to sit for his first mate's certificate, has succeeded in pai-sing his examination, and is now second officer of the Kittawa. Mr. Suckling is a , Wellington Collego old boy. Mr. Munt, late fourth engineer of the Aorangi, has joined tho Arahura as third.
