There is disappointment nt Canada's slowness in meeting the Commonwealth's advauces for reciprocity, Wh«n asked early this year for a list of items on, which she was prepared to givo tho best tariff treatment, Canada replied that Mr. G. E. Foster, Minister of Trade and Customs, would bo shortly visiting Australia. Private information haa now been received that Mr. Foster will not arrive until April, 1913, with the Trade Commission. Aα the Federal elections will be pending thon the negotiations will bo greatly hampered.
