AOHANGI DUE THIS EVENING. From Sydney direct the Aorangi arrives at Wellington this evening. The vessel has been delayed for the last two* days with bad weather and head ecas. She is scheduled -to sail at midnight to-night for San Francisco. - vfa Island ports, but it is doubtful whether she will get away. It will probably be noon on Saturday, before tho vessel gets away.

Owing to tho exceptionally! bad weather this week's direct boat- from .Sydney—the Wammoo—has been delayed consi'lurably. and the latest advice received slates that the vessel will arrive to-nieit. 'Fhs vessel will sail for Dunedin direct to-hiorrow night, omitting Lyttelton, and.,will go m ■from the former port to Bluff, and thence to Hobart and Melbourne. Tlic vessel's Lyttcltoii cargo, and passengers will be transhipped to the. ferry boat. ,
-TAHITI FROJI SAN FBANGISC.Q. : On Wednesday morning, at 9 o'clock, tha R.M.S. Tahiti reported by wireless to the local Radio Office that she was off Capo Palliser,. and unable to. pick up the entranco to Wellington Heads,' owins to the dense fog. All day Wednesday and all night the vessel cruised, round .the Strait and was unable to enter until early, yesterday morning. On June 26, at 11 a.m., the Tahiti left San Francisco for Papeete, where she arrived on July 7. Sailing the following day she called at liarotonga, on July 10, and after leaving this port on July 11 the weather, which had been fine to thi.s date, became less consenial 1 . Strong variable winds, with modera-le Fens, were experienced, but the conditions did not improvo as she near»d Cook Strait. The New Zealand cargo includes a large quantity of bananas, oranges,. hops, timber, oil, machi!ii3i'y, hardware, earr'agoware, boots, cotton goods, fruit (canned), rind fish (canned). TOKOMARU AIUUVES. At present undercha.rtcr to the New Zealand Shipping Co., the Shawl Sa-vill ■ and Albion Co.'s steamer Tokomaru arrived in port from' St. John, via Australian ports and Auckland. The yessel left the Canadian port on May 8, and arrived at Auckland on Monday morninn last. After discharging 800 tons of general cargo at the northern port she sailed for Wellington on Tuesday morning.. On arrival yesterday tho vessel berthed at No. 14 Jervois Quay Wharf, and commenced discharging 800 toßii of cargo. Captain E. A. Kelly is in command, lite other officers being:— Mr. 11. Her charter with the New Zealand Shipping Company then expires, and she proceeds to Newcastle to load coal for tho Philippine Islands.
FLAGSTAFF AT STIRLING POINT. The ■ Bluff Harbour Board liave notified the Marine Department Ihat a new flagstaff has been erected at Stirling Point, with which signals may be exchanged by International Code, and from which "signals may Ijo shown. This signal-station will only be used when the signal-station en Bluff Hill is obscured. J The station is connected by telephone with the Postal and Telegraph Oilico and with, the Harbour Staff, and at night sicnals by Morse code may bo exehaueed with the watchman in the light-tower. Tho light-tower is now lit by electric light, and the light is visible for six miles.

At daybreak to-day the vessel will tcku.her departure for Napier, where ehe resumes Homeward loading. • ■ The ferry steamer Maori was unable to get outside the entrance until 4 o'clock yesterday morning, sho- reached her destination at 3 p.m. yestcrany, occupying about 11 hours for the trip. Word was received yesterday morning that both the Komnta and the Waipori were . sheltei iiu under Long Iriniid. Tho vessels ore expected to arrive nt this port to-dny. The West Coabt packet Anhura was anions; the many vessels which have been delayed owing to the gale which .has rased for the past few days. Leaving Pirton at 8.30 o'clock on Wednesday night, she was compelled to seek shelter in the Sounds until 4 o clock yesterday morning, when she resumed her run to Wellington. ]n rrof.-ing the Strait the vessel encountered exceptionally heavy seas.
