THE HOSPITAL COMMITTEE.
.MONTHLY MEETING. The ordinary meeting of tiie Wellington Hospital Committee- was held yesterday. There were pwsimt: Messrs.'li. C. Kirk (chairman), 11. Baldwin, W. Tompsitt, 11. E. Gardner, J. Trevor, nnd A. N. Hindinarsh. It was reported by the lionse Committee that the following donors of .EIOO and upwards to the Children's Hospital had agreed to have cots named iifrer them:— Messrs. Larin nnd Co., Johnston and c>)., and Staples and Co.; 31 rs. M. \. Williams. Miss Hose M. Joseph. Mr. Charles F.lgar, and Mr. Joseph Jrfcph. It was decided that a letter of thanks find appreciation be sent to Messrs. J l . Hnyman and Co. for a gift of toys, and to Mr. Joseph Joseph for a donation of £2b to the Children's Jlospitnl toy fund. The resignations of Nurses Warren, Taine, nnd Mimro were accepted with regret, and Nurse itacGregor wos granted three months' leave of absence. It was decided that any nuvso promoted to the position of sister.bo placed on probation for three months. The committee recpiiiinonded jrlie board to consider the question of inaugurating a system of superannuation for tho staff. On the recommendation of tho medical superintendent, Dr. William Cuthbert M'Can was appointed house surgeon on the resident medical staff of tho Wellington. Hospital. It was decided to recommend to the Mayoress that Wednesday, July 31, would bo a suitable date for planting trees and shrubs in tho grounds adjoining the Children's Hospital, and that the hou«o steward be authorised to obtain ft supply of trees.
