SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Present indications are for southerly winds, strong to Kale, with a. tendency to moderate shortly, except about East Cape, and posuibly in Oorok Strait. Cold and showery weather probable generally. The barometer is still uneteady, especially in the southernmost districts, but will probably rise everywhere soon. The cyclonic system which has cauMd much rain and wind during the past four days is now departing to the eastward of. East Cape. Mastorton, July 18.—A heavy southeasterly gale raged all day to-day, and has every appearance of continuing. Five inches of rain havo fallen hero durintr the last four days. Hastings. July 18!— To-day has been dull and showery, with, lower temperature.
