STAR OF CANADA INQUIRY.
CAPTAIN BLAMELESS. (By Tel«eranh--Preti A««oelatl»n.: Gisborne, July 17. Tho finding in regard to the loss of the Star of Canada exonerated Captain Hart and the' officers of the vessel from blame and returned their certificates. ■ The Court found the loss had been caused by the vessel dragging her anchor, that there was no misconduct or neglect, and in answer to the question whether the captain should have put to sea earlier in the evening, the Court held that he was quite justified in staying where he was. The captain and officers, said the magistrate, left the Court without, the slightest, stain on their professional reputation. ' The. salvage operations continue, pumping being vigorously carried out. \Wiilst the jettisoning of the grain cargo proceeds, A collision mat has be;n placed under the vessel at the bridge, which is to be shifted forward if she ri«ss.
