MIRAMAR'S RESERVES.
MR. A. D. CRAWFORD GIVES ANOTHER, EIGHT 1 ACRES;
The borougli of Jliramar will, be amply provided with reserves in the future, if the. present rate of acquirement is continued. Only a few days ago finality was reached in the negotiations between'the council and Jlirannir, Ltd., whereby the former body became tho owner for all time of a fine area of eleven acres on tile llatj (included 'in the reserve known as Miramar Park) and thirty acres on tho hills of Miramar Worth adjoining the'military ressrvc. 'Since then, Mr. A. D. Crawford, who continues to take a lively interest in the peninsular,, the whole ot which was at one time pwne'd by his father, has presented the borough with a. block of eight acres on the hill-sido (eastern aspect),' just below the signal station. Tho site commands a magnificent view of Wellington Heads and the entrance, and when suitably planted should form a really valuable hill-side park.
Tho borough also-owns Overton Park (one acre), r-'eatoun Park (four acres), a' four-acre rererve at Miramnr South, and several smaller reserves, under an acre in area, in different parte of the district.
