. CANADIAN DEFENCE. By TeleEfaph—Press Association-Copyright London, July 14. The members of the Canadian Ministry have held another conference with the Imperial Defence Committee. Tho. progress of the conference is desci-fbed as being most satisfactory. Mr.'Borden and his Ministers lunched with their Majesties at Buckingham Palace. Mr. Asquith and his Ministers, and Lord Strathcona, lale High Commissioner for Canada, were also present. ;
THE.MEDITERRANEAN FLEET. London, July 11. .'. Captain~Walter Faber;"|t'hiohist 'member for Hants, "declares that when tho Ministers returned from Malta they intended to abandon tho Mediterranean. A severe struggle on the Defence Committee, however,- reversed that intention. Ho believed the Canadian offer for Imperial defence would be =£1,100,000 every other year.
