CAUSE OP THE AKRON DISASTER.
By Telegraph-Press Association—Copyright New York, July 14. An investigation has been held into the cause of the explosion which wrecked the airship Akron during a flight at Atlantic City recently. The airship,, it will be remembered, was built for Mr. Melvin Vaniman's proposed Transatlantic voyage/ and tho explosion caused tho death of Mr. Vaniman, his brother, Mr. Colvi'n Vaniman, and- three other persons. It now appears that the disaster was due' to the faulty construction of the Akron, allowing gas to escape over tiie engino exhaust.

Lady Loraine, mother of the well known aviator, who wis'killed, some time ago, desiring to see the fulfilment of her late son's ideals, is urging the immediate raising not only of a national, but an Empire fund, as a gift to tho Crown to place the Royal.
