BURGLARS IN AUCKLAND.
' STILL ACTIVE. (By Telegraph— Press Association.) • ■ i • Auckland, July 15.. Despite the recent prosecutions, burglars are apparently still operating in Auckland. The premises of F. M'Mcnemy's, tobacconist ant) hairdresser, of the Strand Arcade, being 'entered sonic time during Saturday night, and articles to the value of about £i .stolen. The proprietor left the premises on Saturday night, and yesterday morning, when ho visited them, he found, the shop in great disorder, and a number of'packets of cigarettes to the value of about .S3, and a hair-cutting machine, valued at missing. The thieves gained entrance through a window at the side of the. shop, and left muddy footmarks, clearly defined, all over the counter, This is the second time within the past fortnight that M'Meneiny's premises have been broken into, cigarettes comprising the. major portion of the haul on each occasion.
