Wurd has been received that the lute Mr. Eugene O'Connor, who represented the Euller district in Parliament, and was the initiator of Iho'fiioveMent to establish the Wcsiport Harbour Board, has .left the bull; of his estate, estimated at about .£20,00!), to •establish a home in x Westport for destitute children and destitute old' people of the district, the trustees being the Roman Catholic Bishop of Wellington and the member for the Bullor district, and the Mayor of, Westport for the time bein. On the death ,of relatives, the annuities how left to them also comes to Westport for t.<e above home. .All' of Mr. O'Connor's valuable library is left to the Westport Free' Public ■Library.
