HALF-YEARLY MEETIKG. The half-yearly meeting of the Letterpress and Lithographic Printers' Union was held in Hie Trades Hall on Satiirchy night, a large number of members being prpMint. It wns decided to draw tho attention ot the Minister for Labour (Mr .Mas>ey) to the alleged laxitv of the Lahour Department in connection with several admitted breaches of tho award.

A committee was sot up to consider the advisability of introducing a mortality and retiring allowance fund, and is to report (o tho next mrftinß of the union. A sum of about .£2(l was collected by die union for the benefit of th; wives and families of the miners in liccfton and Wai hi.

Tho ballot of the union tnken in fnvonr of applying for a Dominion award was carried almost 'unanimously, only three members voting; in tho negative.
