TVKLLINGTON HORSE SALE. The Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., and Kedueed. report:Wo held our first horio sale at O'Brien's yards (Dixon Street), on Kuturdny last. when an offering ol 35 Clydesdale mares, flllice. geldings, vanners, 'and light harness horses came under the auctioneer's notice. Tho attendance was large, buyers being present from Levin, Waikannc. Johiuouville, Hint, and other districts, bo tides local contractors and carriers. Tho quality of the horsce, generally speakms. was good, and in some cases bordering on lirst-class. Consignments came forward from Feilding, Levin. Waikanae. flutt.and Paliiatua districts. These were only fairly well bid for, but notwithstanding a dullness in the market. a Tair nnraber of them changed hands at satisfactory prices, home clifty geldingn from the Feilding district, which attracted attention, were passed in at from f<6 to £48, these figures not being up to vendors' reserve. Good useful sort of draught geldings, fit for shafts and lorry work, were in good demand. We quote:—Good young draught mares, at from. £38 to £45: superior youne draught geldings, at from £35 to JKB; ordinary draught mares and geldings, at from £21 to £35; aged draughts, at from £9 to £12; good strong upstanding vanners. ai from £21 to £28; spring carters, from £15 to £20; hackney and harness hordes, at from £8 to £12; weedy and aged do.. £4 10s. to £7.

Hill and Kitchie. of the Upper Carringtou Koud, were yarded. There were mostly late cnlvers, mid some were carrying a lot of age.
