New York, July 14. Mr. ■• Victor. Smith, a well-known amateur aviator, has been killed in tho Palo Alto district. His aeroplane vas caught in a gust of wiiid, and dashed to earth. Mr. Smith held tho world's umnteur aviation speed record.
