Mackenzie informed onr Parliamentary reported that if ho had, been allowed to remain, in office a few weeks longer he was very hopeful that h» would have beon able to start an experiment farm in tho Clutha district, fregc-i , tiations for the acquirement of Mr. Tel* ford's property had proceeded satisfactorily,: but woro brought to a standstill, thrcmirh tho owner's illness. ■Hβ thinks ' Mr. Masscy will recognise tho desirability, of acquiring this l valuable property."-
