After a prolonged trial the system of farthing fares on tho South Metropolitan tramways between Crqydon, Tooting, and Sutton has boeu abolished. When Thomas Marklovr was charged at Birmingham with robbing his father of £2 12s. lid., it was stated that tho money was takon from the pocket of his fathers trousers, which were haiiginu on tho bedstead.
