FREEZING COMPANIES CONFERENCE.
REVIEW OF THE BUSINESS. AN ANNUAL OPERATIVES CONFEE- ■ ENCB. Discussing the recent conference of freezing companies,'* .the chairman of the conference,' Mr. W. G. Foster, yesterday informed a representative of The Dominion that the conference was unanimously regarded. as haying been a complete success. . The object of the conference was to consider'and arrive at the best methods of producing and presenting on the London market, Now Zealand frozen meat. Reports were read dealing with the negotiations entered into and the arrangements in London by Dr. Robinson, Hdino representative, of the AsMiciatrd Companies of Ihe North Island, and the companies unanimously npproved of all that had been done and arranged by the I/indon representative and also approved of the project of the Port, of London. Authority in respect of the provision of the. most complete facilities at the Albert Docks for the handling of meet without damage. It was stated that. Dr. Robinson had been invited by the committee, of the Tort of' London Authority to ?ivn .assistance, in regard fo tho arrangement of details of the scheme. Operative Officers Confer. ' Previous to the meeting of representatives, of the. Boards ot Directors of the various freezing companies a conference, of the operative officers (engineers, works managers, etc.) of the respective nanies was held to consider the possibilities of betterment of the position at this end. The conference dealt very exhaustively with the methods followed, and made numerous • recommendations for .dealing with meat in and from the works, and to and/in tho ships. It was decided I hat tho meeting of operative officers should be held annually in the fulure to deal with the methods in vogue at this end. . ' .
