In-the Nordqn Clip hockey match, played to-day, Wairarapa successfully dciendc<l the title by defeating Iho Poverty Bay representatives by 5 goals to nil. Tlio weather was Jiot favourable, vain falling during the day, the ground being wet and soft. Tlio visiting forwards were good at times, but were unable to pierce tlio (Iβi'enco of Wairarapa, -whose backs were very sound. In tlio first spell Wairarapn put on two sroals, scored by I'isher and Tunnicliffe. In tlio second spoil, Poverty Bay were 'outclassed, threo ifoals being scored for the home team by Fisher. Snia.il?, the Poverty Ray goal-keeper, received a nasty hit, and left tlio field. Tlio home team ployed an excellent game, but tlio visitors (excepting the forwards) played poorly.
