Invercargill Wedding, ' At \AII Saints' Church, Gladstone, on July 4, Miss Alice Smith, youngest daughter of the late Dr. Gibson Smith, Balclutha, was! married to Captain R. S. Lewis, sou of the Rev. W. Lewis, of "Fonthill/: Clifford, England. The ceremony was performed by the Vcn. Archdeacon Stoekor. Captain and Mrs. Lewis are leaving shortly for England, where their future residence will be. Social at Mitchelltown. An enjoyable social evening and dance was held- in- tho Anglican Schoolroom, Mitchclltown, last evening. A programme of vocal mid instrumental music was provided, Miss Clinberg opening with a pianoforte solo. Songs were * contributed l>y Miss Plorencc, and Messrs. Colverville, Pearson, Barcliamp, and the Eev. Cross. 'Recitations by Miss Lissack and Master Power, and violin solos were'rendered by Miss Lindsay and Mr. Walker. After support the room was . cleared for dancing. .The social was arranged by the Ladies' Committee, and the proceeds were devoted to reducing the debt on the school property. Doull regretted the loss of the guests as church workers, and referred in complimentary terms to the assistance which they had rendered. Wanganui Notes. \ Mrs. C. M. The gentlemen's prize was won by Mr. Jack Connor, a very nent picture frame, ami tlie booby prize, which created a good deal of excitement, fell to Captain Connor. A very dainty supper was dispensed by the hostess, assisted by her daughter, Miss Nella Ciesswell, nfler which music- was indulged in.
