Messrs. Abraham and Williams repoit:— At our Masterton sale yesterday we had a small yarding o£ sheep and a very large olio of cattle, everything selling under the hammer at tlio .undermentioned prices:— Pat ewes, 16s. sdi;medium lamb 3, lCs. 9d.: forward bullocks, £6 3e. to £6 65.; medium bullocks, £5 12s. to £5 175.; others, to £4 10s. to £4 195.; fat cows £5" 12s. 6d.; forward cows, £4 155.; station heifers. £3 15s. to £4 10s.; dairy cows, £4, 10s. .to £5. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency 00., Ltd., and Reduced (Masterton branch) report:—We had a good entry of sheep at Solway yesterday, and, with the exception of one lino, we made a total clearance. There was a pood attendance of buyers, and competition was 'keen throughout the sale for a.U classes. 209 wethers' made 165.. 9d;; ewes in lamb, to 12s. 4d.; empty ewos, lis. 6d. to 12s. 4d.: backward lambs, Bs. 6d. Mcsrs. r& ; port:—At our Tainapo sale a tulT yarding of shcop met a ready sale. Good wether lambs, 12s. 5d.; mixed lambs, lis. 6d. to 13a.; fat ewes, 145.; forward owes, 12s. Id.; empty ewe.s, 9s. &d.; 2-ycar steers, £4 183. 6d.; small heifers, in calf, £4 Is. 6d. Messrs. James Macintosh and Co. report having held their usual weekly sale in their Waipoua iMasterton) sale yards yesterday. • Only a small yarding enmo forward. The weather was in buyers' favour, and, consequently, prices were not up to late market rates. Sheep: Hoggets, to 12s. 6d.; cull ewes, 63. to 7s. Cattle: Fat steers, £7 55.; fat cows. £5 ss. to £5 7s. 6d.; • store cows, £2 12s. to £3; young ■ bulls, to £2; cows in calf. £5 to £6 12s. 6d. Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report 011 their Johnsonville sale, held yostcrday, as follows: —We oftcrcd a good yarding of bullocks and fair one of sheep; also a line of dairy cows. Bullocks made from £9 2s. 6d. to £10 2s. 6u. to £11 2s. 6d.; vealers, 18s. to 315.; cows at drop, £15 ICe.; others averaged from £4 to £7; extra prime wethers, 265. 9d.; prime, 225. sd. to 245. 6d.; lighter, 17s. Jdi to 18s. lCd.; ewes, 15s. 7d. to 17s. 10d.; lambs, 13s. to 14s. lCd. to 15s .
Messrs. Abraham and-Williams, Ltd., report:—At Mr. Kirkcaldie's sale yesterday there was a good attendance. The heifers were a choice lot, and anything that was close to calving eold well. Backward sorts dragged somewhat, but, taking the Bale all through, it was very satisfactory. Heifers, close to calving, £6 10s.,- £7, £7 7s. 6d., £7 155., £8, £8 2. 6d., £8 12s. fid., £6 17-s. 6d.; backward calves, £4 17a. 6d., £5, £5 55., £5 10s. f £6, £6 55., making an averago of £6 7s. We also offeied some very choicc dairy etoclw for Mr. S. W. Carter, of Shannon. jThese were a very choice lot, and very spirited bidding took place. Holstein heifers, £9 55., £10. £11 10s., £12 55.; Jer&ey heifers, £8 5*3., £9, £9 '10s., £10, £11, £13 155.; Holstein cows, £10 to £11. The herd, numbering 21, made tho excellent average of just on £10 per head.
Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report having held their weekly Pahiatua gale yesterday. A heavy yarding of both sheep and cattle was submitted to a large attendance, the bulk of the slieep going to the Wairavapa. I'h« class of the sheep was well above the average, some really gocd lines of breeding ewes au<i hoggets being offered. For these there was keen inquiry, £1 os. 3d. being reach* ed for owes, and 16s. for hoggets. Other classos of sheep also sold well. Cattle mot a good sale, "practically everything chancing hands. Young ewes in lamb, 15s. 9d., 17?. 6d., 13s. 7d., 19s. 2d., and 2Gs. 3d.; 2, 4, 6 and 4-year ewe?. 14s. 81. u> 183.; sound-mouth ewes, Us. 6d. to 14s. Id.; full-mouth ewes, 6s. 6d. to 9s. 2d.; fat ewes, 14s. to 163. 5d.; good hoggets, 12s. lid. to 165.; medium hoggets, 10s. 3d. to 12s. Messrs. Abraham and Williams. Ltd., conducted a successful doarinc sale, at Monsaraairi on behalf of Mr. E. Bodmin. Bidding was spirited for everything offered, the cows selling especially well. They were a really good lot, and buyers operated with confidence. Tho whole herd of M cows averaged £9 3?. all round, eellinc from £6 lte. to £15; springing heifers. £1; Jersey bull, £7 75.; weaner Jersey-cross hoifers. £3 13s. 6d.; farm "horse?. £13 to £29: mixed hosrgets. 12a.
