' SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Present indications, aro for heavy Tain in most parts of the country, especially over the North Island and on the East Coast of the South, and with much snow on higher levels. Colder weather following. High westerly winds, veering to southerly, northward of' Ka--> whia., and Castlepoi'nt, and Bouthcasterlies, etronc to Eale, elsewhere. The barometer will probably rise everywhere soon. A cyclonic system, with lowest pressure, about Cook Strait now rules—high northerly and westerly winds havo been experienced in tho north and; southerly and easterly winds in the south.
