NORTH ISLAND WORKS' CONFERENCE. A conference of the representatives of tho North Island freezing companies is to b? held in Wellington to-day to consider the matter of the transport and handling of frozen meat, and other questions relating to the export, trade. It is-understood tint the conference will bo private The companies repre.'enteu will be the Gear Co., Auckland. Tokomaru, Gisborne, Waitara, Nelson Bros., North British, and Ilawke's Bay, Waingawa, Longburn, Southland, .T. G. Ward, Ltd., and Nelson. Tho presence of representatives from the south is tho result of an invitation sent to companies outside of the North Island.

Cheo-.e-inakinfi pity?, especially when the plant includes Victor" Vats. Two large Taranaki Companies have realised this, and have placed orders for SO of these patent vats.
