ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
INQUEST AT THE HOSPITAL. Mr. W. G. Riddcll, S."M., held an inquest at the Hospital on Saturday afternoon, touching the death of John h. Mmr, who died in the institution on Friday night. Senior Sergeant Mathicson, of Wellington South, represented the police, and Mr. E. J. .Fitzgibbon appeared for the relatives of (ho deceased. -■/ i The evidence showed that' ,Mnir was u single man, 33 years of age, and was employed by Messrs. Ballingcr Brothers, in Waring Taylor Street. On Friday afternoon he was,picked up in'an unconscious state underneath a fanlight, and had evidently fallen from the lot't above, though no "one saw the accident. Dr. Henry, who was called, ordered the removal of tho patient to the Hospital, where he died the same evening from concussion of the brain. A verdict of accidental death was returned. Deceased's parents, who reside in Dunedin, reached Wellington yesterday. .FOUND IN THE BOAT HABBOUK, ji.sad discovery in the Boat Harbour was '/reported at the Clydo Quay I'olico Station yesterday by a youth. It was that the body of a.iiiari was floating in shallow water. Constables M'Kelvey ami Whitehousc afterwards visited the scene and removed the body to (ho morgue. From all appearances it had been in (he water about'a fortnight, and there has so for booo. no one,to identify it. Deceased was of strong build, about alt. 7in. in lmight, and about '10 years of age. In (ho pocket of a blue tweed coat was found an oveniug paper of .Time 19, and a railway return ticket from Silverstroniii, dated Juno 18. An inquest will be held. A single man, named James M'Grftth, residing at Northland, was admitted, to Hie Hospital on Saturday night suffering from a scalp wound sustained by a iall in Hill Street. v
