'Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report: At Levin, on Friday, a yarding of thirty pens of sheep of particularly good quality met with keen competition, and all lines changed hand? at prices in advance of recent quotations. A large entry of cattle also came forward. Fat cattle and dairy heifers sold readily, but other lines dragged slightly. Quotations are as follow:—A few prime heavy show wethers made 28s. 6d.; fat wethers, lfs. 4d„ 17s. 7d., 18s. Bd., to 20s. 4d.; fat ewes, 135., 14s. 2d., 16s. 4d., 16s. Bd.; forward wethers, 15s. 3d. and 165.; store wethers, 14s. 3d.; forward ewes, lis., 125.; hoggcttj, 10s. 2d.. IDs. lid., lis. Bd., lis. 9d. 125., and 12s. lid.; store ewes. ss. to Bs. 4d.; a line of 3CO five-year liomnoy ewes in lamb sold on account of Mr. A. Draie, made 17s. 9d.; 200 two. four, and six-tooth ewes in lamb, IBs.; 220 two, four, six, and f.f.ni. ewes in lamb on account of Mr. J. Leydon, 17s. 4t1.; 112 mixed-age ewes iu lamb, on account of Mr. 0. Bell, il6s. lid.; 12 four-tooth ewes in lamh, on account Mr. Mason, 19s. 4d.; light fat bullocks, 80s.; fat cows, £5 10a. to £7 IBs.: springing cows, £7 to £9 10s.; springing heifers, £5 to £6 155.; heifers in calf, £4 10s. to £5 -fa.: yearling Holstein-Jersey heifers. £3 9s. fid.; yearling half-bred Jersey heifers, £3; yearling heifers. £2 7s. 6d.: yearling steers, £2 10s.; weaner heifers, £2. Messrs. Dalgcty and Company, Limited (Pa'.merston North) report having a very good yarding of both sheep and cattle at their Fcilding sale on Friday. Hoggets were easier than at previous sole, , and several lots went out unsold. Quotations:— Small wether lambo, 10s. 3d.; small. ewe lambs, to 12s. Id.; medium wether lambs, to lis. Si.; good ewe lambs, to 13s. Bd.; mixed-age ewes in lamb, 13s. to 145.; youne ewes in lamb, to 15s. 2d.; good four and five-year ewes, in lamb to Southdown rams, 18.-:. lid. Cattle: Empty two-year heifers, £3 9s. to £3 18s. 6d.; backward dairy cows, £4 to £6; dairy heifers, Shorthorn cross, £5 10s.; two and a half to three-year steers, £5 Is. to £5 55.; three and a half-year bullocks, to £6 12s. 6d.
