"SHAKESPEARE'S ENGLAND."
Queen Alexandra, the Empress Mavie of Russia, the Grand Duchess Olga, J'linccss Victoria, and Prince Arthur of Connaught honoured Jlrs. George Coruwallis West by attending the luncheon which the Rave at the Mermniil Tavern Club, Hail's Court, to mark the opening of (he Shakespeare's England Inhibition. The b'oyal guests went to the Tudor ITouse elk-v----wards for coffee, and then entered motorcars and drove lo the Tudor town. They next made a tour of the Exhibition, and showed much interest in the reproductions of old English houses and siciirs, including Ann Jlathawav's cottage, the Salisbury Cross, the .Market l'lace at Exeter, and the main street, of Lynton. A visit, was also paid to the replica of the old Globe Theatre, where thoy-saw a fulldress rehearsal of "I'yramus and Tiiisbe" from "A Midsummer Night's Dream." From the Globe Theatre they passed to the Fortune Theatre, where .Miss Xc-llie Chaplin's comp.iuy gave selections from ancient dances and music, Shakespeare's library was also visited.
