TO-DAY'S DINNER.
(Special!? written for Tub Dominion.) MONDAY. Mutton Broth. Curried' Chops, potatoes. Vegetable Marrow. SI earned Marmalade Pudding. STEAMED MARMALADE PUDDING. Two ounces butler, 2oz. sugar, Joz. flour, } tcaspoontul carbonate, of soda, 1 egg, 2 tablespooufuls each of milk and marmalade. Beat the butter and sugar to a cream. Add the eggs, mill;, and marmalade, and lastly the flour and carbonate of soda, which have been sifted together. Pour into a greased mould and steam 1J hours. Serve with marmalade sauce. FOR TO-JFORROW. Stock, 5 or Gib. loin of pork, and apples, cabbage, fruit for stewing. ' SOCIAL AND PERSONAL. Wedding at Kent Terrace. On. Wednesday last, at the Kent Terrace Church, Evelyn (.trace, daughter of Mr. David Clark, of Somerset Avenue, was married to Mr. (ieorge Wright, son of Mr. .1. Wright, of this city. The Itev. Mr. Hoggs perfomed tho ceremony. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a trained gown of cream charmouse satin, embroidered in silver and pearls, and her long tulle veil was arranged over a bandeau of orange blossoms. She was attended by four bridesmaids—the .Misses Irene and Lou Clark, sisters, and Grace Coy and Eadie C'rothcrs, nieces of the. bride. Tho two elder maids were attired in dainty frocks of ivory white silk, with black velvet hats wreathed with white plume.?, and carried sheaf bouquets. The bridegroom's present to the bride was a handsome garnet bracelet, ami to the bridesmaids pearl brooches and bracelets. Mr. D. Clark officiated as best man, and Jlr. George Maby fulfilled the duties of groomsman. After the wedding a reception was held in the Masonic Hall, at which a large number of guests were present. Wedding at St. John's, At St. John's Church, on July .1, was celebrated the wedding of Miss Amy Edwards and Mr. Leslie Andrew. The bride, who was given away by Mr. A. Johnston, was gowned in white taffetas silk, trimmed with silk fringe and lace. She wore a veil and wreath of orange blossoms, and carred a beautiful bouquet of shaded hydrangea. The Misses J. Andrew and J. Johnston were, attired in bridesmaids dresses of ivory white cloth. Tho Rev. Dr. Gibb was (he officiating minister, and Messrs. N. and C. Andrew, brothers of the bridegroom, attended as best man and groomsman. A. reception was afterwards held in St. John's Schoolroom. Patea Wedding,
At Votea during the last week of .Trine was celebrated the marriage of -Miss Beatrico -Horner, daughter of Air. and Mrs. 1!. C. Horner, of l'atea. to Mr. Norman Douglas Symcs, son of Mr. S. T. Symes, of Auckland. The bride was attired in <a charming gown of ivory satin, trimmed with Maltese lace and pearl embroidery, and wore a long veil arranged over a flat wreath of orange blossoms. The two bridesmaids, Miss Ethel Homer, sister of the bride, arid Miss Veto Symes, siste:' of the bridegroom, were daintily frocked in white embroidered muslin, with large blaok hats, massed,with pink roses. Mr. B. Horner attended as best man, and Mr. S. Symcs a.s groomsman. Mrs. Symcs, mother of tho bridegroom, wore a gown of blue charmeuse silk, with hat en suite, ami Jlrs. Homer, mother of the Tjride, was dressed in black glace with a green antl black hat.
Miss Gwendolyn Burroughs, who will appear here next week in "lieu Hjii-." as Iras, tho Egyptian, was first seen in Wellington as Lady SyUI Lasgcnby, in Barrio's comedy "What Every Woman Knows." KecMitly sho toured New Zealand with Jliss Lthel Irving'? company, playing tho French maid in "Lady Frederick."
The engagement is announced of Miss Dot Curtis, daughter of the late Jlr. A, 1!. Curtis, to Jlr. C. Jl. Howard, of Wellington. Jliss Aimce Curtis her sister, is also engaged to Jlr. 11. Stewart, oi I'catherston.
Tho Shakespeare Club are giving a. public recital of "C'oriolauus" on Tuesday, July IC, at the Sydney Street Hall. This tragedy was one of the last Shakespearean productions given by tho late Sir Henry Irving at the Lyceum Theatre, I/mdoii, antl ns the play has not been seen in this country, the club's recital should prove especially interesting.
