The fight between Johnson, tho champion heavy-weight boxer of the world, imd J. Flynn took placo at Lns Vegas today, and resulted in an easy victory for Johnson. Tho police stopped the fight in the ninth round, when Flynn, who was badly whipped at the time, tried to lose by deliberately' fouling Johnson by butting. Flynn was frightfully beaten, while the champion was hardly marked. Throughout the fight Johnson played with his opponent, who in the last three rounds realised he was beaten, and tried to lose on a foul by butting. Johnson throughout held himself in reserve and fought oarofully. Some thousands of spectators were brought into tho town by special trains, and the big canvas tent erected for the fight was well filled. The morning was clear. Both men appeared to bo in perfect condition, and each was equally confident of victory. Johnson offered to bet 10,000 dollars against 4000 on himself. Mr. Smith, a sporting writer of Chicago, was referee. In the first round Flynn started rushing. Johnson eaiily avoided him, cut a deep gash under his left eye, and shook him up with left and 'right hooks. In the second round Johnson toyed with Flynn, who bled from tho mouth. Flynn, in round three, met with some success. Ho rushed and hooked right and left to Johnson's mouth,' bringing blood, but Flynn himself was streaming as ho went to his corner.

He tried to reach Johnson's stomach, but tho latter only laughed at his efforts, dazzling the spectators with his speed. / Flynn started butting in tho sixth, and was warned, Ho then claimed that Johnson was holding. The champion dazed iiis opponent with a volley of straight lefts and rights to tho face. Then he stopped, apparently to prolong the fight.
