FIRST READINGS. Tho Housa met at 2.30 p.m. yesterday. "The Wellington Harlionr Board Empowering Bill" (Mr. Rindmarsh), and tho "Auckland University College Act, 1882, Amendment Bill" wore read a first time and referred to the Local Bills Committee. 'J'lis "Mining Act. 100!?, Amendmsnt Bill" and the "Ctfal Mines Act, 1903, Amendment Hill" were introduced by jlr. .1. Colvin (Minister for Mine.O, read a first time, and set down for second readin? on next sitting dav. The "Sunday Labour Bill" (Mr. F. Jr. B. Fisher) was read a. first time, and set down for second reading four weeks hence. CROWN LANDS AND PUBLIC RESERVES. The Prime Minister moved that a committee be appointed, consisting of eleven members, to whom shall stand referred aftor tho firs); rending all Bills affecting or in any way relating to the lands of tho Crown, or educational or other public reserves; the committee to have power to make such Amendments therein as they think proper, and to report generally when necessary upon the principles and provisions of the. Bill; the committee to have power to call for persons, papers, and records; three to be a quorum: the committee to consist of Messrs. Anderson. Buddo. Forbes, Guthrie, Lang, B. Newman. NoMvorthv, T.
