FULLERS' PICTURES. Tho excellent programme of photoplays which has been screened at the i?l;atuig Emit in Vivian Street for the past few nights was shown for (ho last ,Vi!} 0 ., ast wenuig. The Edison drama, . Children \\ho Labour," was a capital picture, and one that is slated- to be founded on fact. A complete change ot programme- is announced tor this evening. KING'S THEATRE. "Redeemed by Fire" is the title of a rather sensational dramatic picture which is tho star item cf the programme at present bring screened at the King's Theatre. One incident in tho picture is a realistic fir© scene, in which the hero has to decide between his wifo and a famous opera singer, and at the psychological moment decides to stand by his wife. "Redeemed by Five" is supported by other interesting subjects. THE NEW THEATRE. Backed houses wore the rule yesterday afternoon and evening at MacMtihon anil Donnelly's continuous pictures at tho New Theatre, Manners Street. The astonishing encounter with a wild lion.in the picture-story "Attacked by a Lion" is quite a novel and daring performance. The American Bio Company's drama "The Female of the Species is an impressive production .of an unusual..type. Tho drama "In Borrowed Plumes," and tho scenic study "Scenes in tho Tyrol" deservo special commendation. "Attacked by a Lion" and the current series of supporting, items will be shown for the last time to-day and to-night, and there will ho.au entire change to-morrow. . Next Monday a twentieth century dramatic sensation "The Midnight Wedding" will bo introduced. SHORTTS' PICTURES. The animated films which have been showing at Shortts' Continuous Picture rheatro hold their own very well in the face of current competition. The management announce a change programme for to-day as follows:—"Do Men Lore Women i" (A.P.P. drama); "Cowbovs' Adventures" (A.K. drama); "Curing'the Office Boy" (Edison, comic); "The Kidnapped Conductor" (Kalem comedy); "Three Frieruls" (Paths comedy); "Angry Nature" (Cosmopolitan scenic); Gaumcnt Graphic; and "Porcelain Industry in Franco" (Monica educational).
THE ADELPHI. T)i.°re was a good attendanco at thj Adelnhi last night, when the current week s programme was presented. The strong: dramatic piny, "The Carbonari," which is admirably-acted, was warmly applauded, as wns also the Vitagraph s'torv, "Justice of the Desert." The fine Bibgraph picture, "The Female of the Species," was likewise highly appreciated by the audience. A new comic film was added to the programme Ui't evening, this being entitled "Max and His Monkey," and was the cause of much merriment. On Friday evening the "Adclphi Masked Male Quartet" are billed to make their first appearance. They will sing that old favourite, "Sweet and Low," and a special film lias been obtained to suit dm number. Booking can be done at the theatre, or by ringing up No. 3U2. There is no extra charge.
"BEN ntTK." To those who caw a production of "Ben ITur" when it was originally staged in Sydney, it will como as a' surprise to know that the famous religious romance is to bepreMinled in some of the small centres of New Zealand. The ingenuity of stago mechanism moves rapidly. Last year it was deemed on impossible fent to present the race scene in "The Whip" outside of the four centres, but now a production of greater magnitude will be staged at jS|ew Plymouth on Monday next, Wanganui on Tuesday and Wednesday, and at Palnjerston North on Thursday and Friday. The production is to l>o staged everywhere in its entirely, ineluding tho realistic chariot race. The Wellington season, which is to be limited to twelve nights, commences on Wednesday, July 17. Tho plan will l>e' opened at' New Plymouth to-morrow, at Collier's; for tho Wanganui season at Jones's on Fridav; fof the Palmerston North representations on Monday next, nt Cole's; and for tho Wellington season at tho Dresden on Friday, |Jnly 12.
