McoUngs 0( lhc~" Tram'way Union woro hold to-day to dismiss.matters in disnut© between tho union- and tho Tramways Board. Tho secretary of tho union supplies tho following report: —"Tho union has resolved to fail in with tho wishes of (ho board, as members nro anxious to. do all in their power to briiiß about an amicable settlement of tho ex-, istiuß grievances,., and, therefor?, they aro prepared to withdraw the letter of Juno 13., although thev consider that, practically, that, letter lias become mill and void,, as tho action therein threatened has not been token. It was decided' that a committee bo appointed lo meet a committee appointed by the board to inonire into the grievances existing amoncft tho ' employees. This joint committee, after full" inquiry;" aro to report to tho Tramway Board. The object of tho union in setting up this. committee is that it is hoped that it. will bo empowered lo call those who think they have grievances lo (jive evidence, and that, by this meant, tho committee will bo in a posi;' tion to .suggest remedies .to the board,"'
