Mr. James Triggs, father of Mr. J. R. ■"■"Egs, Conciliation Commissioner, died yesterday morning at tho advanced age of 87. Dcceasetl wes'anativo of Portsmouth, England. On coming to tho Dominion, about 50 years ago, ho settled in Christchurch, and, later, ho went to the Thames goldfields, but subsequently returned to Christchurch, and started in business as a bootmaker. Latterly, lie has lived in retirement. Ho is survived by six sons and two daughters.—Press Association.
