SOLICITOR'S AID SOUGHT. THAT LETTER TO KAIPARA. .Br Telegraph— Pitta Asro.tlaUon.) Auckland, July 1. A fortnight, ago an inquiry was held by the Poverty Bay Rugby Union concerning an offer which Kaipara, the wellknown Gisborue Rugby player, 'had received to join tho New Zealand Rugby League's twin now in Australia. In his explanation to the Poverty Bay Union Kaipara, who did not accept the offer, said that the first letter which he received suggesting that he should join tho team was from "Jack" Hall, the Auckland Rugby representative wing forward. "When Kaipara's statement was published Hull emphatically denied hnving written nr authorised tho letter. A special meeting of tho Management Committee ofthe Auckland Rugby Union was held to-night, to consider the matter and a lung discussion ensued. Ultimately the committee unanimously resolved as follows: "Having heard Jlr. Hall's statement and seen tho documentary evidence this'coininittce sympathises with Mr. Hall in the unfortunate position in which he has been placed and expresses the opinion that Mr. Hell had no connection with tho writing of the letter signed ' "Jack" Hall,' and received by Kaipara." The committee also decided to place the matter in tho hands of its solicitors to take such action as they deem necessary to thoroughly vindicate Hall's character in connection with tho matter.
