At a meeting of tlio Tramway Board today, a motion was proposed inviting the Tramway, Employees'. union to send a deputation to tlio board to discuss the alleged grievances of the employees. • Tho chairman and other members took up .the attitude that tho union's threat to striko should be withdrawn before any further conferences took place, and it was decided to write to the , union suggesting that their letter containing the threat to strike should be withdrawn, with tho view to opening the way to holding dn amicablo conference. .
