THE ANNUAL MEETING. Tho annual meeting of the New Zealand Holstein Fresian .Society was held at I'almerstoii during the tihow period this week, wlieji tliero was a very largo attendance of members. Mr. Coleman Phillips presided. Tlio chairman reported that tho membership had greatly increased and now numbered 135. The balance-sheet showed a cash kalanco of JJ--50 16s. 7d. and the bakuco of assets over liabilities was .£•162 25.. 7d. Tho following officers were elected:— Patron, Mr. J. C. N. Grigg, Canterbury; president, Mr. Coleman Phillips, AVairarapa; vice-presidents, ' Messrs. Newton King (Taranaki), and TV. 1. Lovelock (Manaw<itu); treasurer, Mr. A. J. Gallichan; council, Messrs. .T. Donald (Wanganui), A. H. Steele (Taranaki), T.. 11. Leonard (Auckland), C. C. Buckland (Cambridge), N. E. Leighton (Invcrcargill), G. Aitcheson (ICaitangata). District committees-Aiiekland—Messrs. Leonard, Parkinson, ll'Nair, and Douglas; Taranaki —Messrs. Newton King, Street, and Henry Johnson; Woirarapa—Messrs. W. 0. Bayliss, E. 11. Buekeridge, and!?. B. Sayerj South Island—Messrs. N. E. .Leigliton, J. C. X. Gi'ipg, 0. Aitcheson, M. Lcith. and .1. Morris. The question of the official testing of cows was discussed at length, _ Messrs. D. Cnddie and Dempster explaining a scheme >11 which Iho Agricultural Department was prepared to with the matter. Tlie matter was referred to the Council''of the Association to deal with.
